We generally put together an overall “plan” for our business. It contains our vision statement plus all the other aspects we have talked about in my “Strategic Focus” plan. What we sometimes forget to realize, is that we have to create and follow a plan every day in order to reach our ultimate destination.
Before you start work tomorrow, write down exactly what you want to accomplish. By defining exactly what your expected end result is for your work this day, you are in a much better position to determine how you are going to achieve your goal.
Unfortunately, many people go to work without a definite plan for the day. You know what your ultimate goal is as defined in your “Strategic Focus plan” ; each day should have a task which brings you closer to making your dreams a reality.
Efficiency is (from Nick’s viewpoint) defined as having a goal, defining the steps required to reach that goal and then the implementation of those steps.
This simple little definition is, perhaps, one of the most difficult to implement. At the same time, it is one of the most powerful habits that a business man can follow. It not only keeps you focused on your final destination, but it should be one of the most efficient time management systems that one can use.
It is said that it takes a minimum of 30 days to create a new habit; challenge yourself to follow this simple formula, every day without exception, for the next 30 days. Take a blank spiral notebook and plan each day in writing. Always carry this with you for the next 30 days) Your business will become more efficient and your bottom line will shine.
The only limit to your impact is your imagination and commitment.
Have a great day!
