Just got back from a very inspiring two week trip to the East Coast. Our visit included a tour of Gettysburg with a history professor whose family has lived there for six generations. He met us at the visitor center ( pre-arranged) and joined us in our vehicle for an amazing three hour, in depth tour.
Our next stop was Washington DC and a visit to the White House, the War memorials. the Holocaust museum, Arlington Cemetery and the Smithsonian.
The last segment of our trip was to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown.
If you haven’t made this trip, it is one one the best places to learn the history of our nation and also to learn about what we should be doing now to get back on the right track.
A bonus to the trip was the opportunity to talk to many people, not only local to the area we were visiting , but from throughout the United States. Over the next few weeks I will share what I observed and felt and also comment on my visits with the people we met on the trip. I will also focus on going back to the basics in our business endeavors and also take a look at the foundation that was set for us to follow.
I will leave you with the comment that a retired CIA agent made: ” Be afraid, be very afraid”. We have fallen away from the basic principles upon which our nation was founded and are headed towards a big cliff; if we don’t change our direction we may fall,
History is an early warning system
