I’m reminded of an old store keeper; everything was in its proper place in the store and when you asked for something, it would take him “forever” to get you the product you requested. To some it sounds like the good old days, a time, which many wish, we could go back to.
Let’s face the realities of being in business today. Speed is now required to grow a business. It does not mean that you don’t do the job right, it means that you don’t get distracted from you main vision. I believe that you must have purpose in everything you do and completing a task, in a timely fashion, is the key to success.
Make a list of all the “tasks” you need to accomplish today. Allocate the amount of time that you feel is needed to complete each task. Don’t give yourself extra time, instead, push yourself to do it in less time.
If you allocate an hour a day to return phone calls, how many calls can you make in an hour? What happens if you don’t have any calls to return? How do you use your time?
If you don’t have enough time in the day to achieve all your daily goals, you may be working to slow. Try walking faster, get to the point quicker in phone calls and always act as if you are in a hurry, not with clients, but in tackling your tasks.
Do this for several weeks, you may just discover a new energy for your business.
If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.
