Self motivation is a wonderful trait but, unfortunately, most small business owners can use a boost. Motivation is something that has to be fed, it could be fed by your own success but, by stepping outside of your own box, you can experience another “motivational high”
There are several way to accomplish the gathering of motivation;
- The easiest is by reading about successful small businesses. I read the Entrepreneur Magazine every month and try to download a business success story to my “NOOK” every two months.
- A more challenging approach is to look in your own community and find several small businesses, that in your opinion, are successful. Walk in and ask for the owner. Tell the owner that you have admired their business and would like to hear their “success story” over a cup of coffee. If they refuse, they are not successful, if they agree to meet with you you will not only learn something but will meet another person to add to your business support group.
I like to, occasionally, share a success story either in my blog or my Small Business Essentials” news letter. I am always willing to learn from my readers their success stories and, if allowed, use them as examples in a new book I am writing. Please share your story by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or start a conversation with a phone call at 602-989-1592.
God didn’t have time to make a nobody, only a somebody. I believe that each of us has God-given talents within us waiting to be brought to fruition.
