I participated in a Business Expo this past weekend, and it re-awakened something in my heart, the importance of PASSION. Among the businesses present were CPA’s, roofers, solar firms, jewelery, mortgage brokers, real estate agents, fence builders, dentists, …. in other words, it was very good mix.
Most of the businesses were represented by the owner. I estimated that most had under 5 employees. The majority were on-person businesses and working our of their homes.
The two days had traffic and I met a lot of interesting people, but the value of my two days came from the exhibitors themselves. These exhibitors, in my opinion, represented the best of America. Never in two days did I hear a negative word about the economy.
Their enthusiasm for their businesses, their belief in the future of their business was a result of the passion and pride the business owners had.A definition of the word passion is ” a strong emotion that has an overpowering or compelling effect”.
I believe that the synergy developed among the exhibitors will continue for months to come. Many in the group are hoping to continue sharing their business progress with their new friends. Future meetings are in the planning stages. Take advantage of future business expo’s, after all, we are all in the people business.
The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled.
