If you listen to the news, it’s hard to tell if the economy is improving or falling apart. Today’s news indicated that the economy is on a downward spiral. You may hear that “big business” is sitting on the sidelines with a “lot of cash” but because of the uncertainty in the economy, they are unwilling to “invest”.
For whatever reason, “big business” is not spending its cash. Unless you are independently wealthy and are working in your small business just to keep busy, you don’t have the luxury of “not doing anything”.
In every dark cloud there is a silver lining. Even if unemployment were to reach 20 %, that means that 80% of the people are working. It may require a change in your product/service or in your target market. It may require you partnering with one or more small business and together traveling in a new direction to embrace the change instead of fighting it.
From throughout the United States I hear from people about how bad the economy is and “can we ever recover”. These people have their focus on failure, not success. Where is your focus?
